So I would recommend every makeup learner to join this amazing course.
I signed up to this course to find myself again, and I can honestly and happily say, find myself is what I did. Becoming a makeup artist was always my dream, especially an SFX makeup artist for TV and Film. But, that along with my understanding of the world completely changed when I was 17 years old and my dad died from a sudden heart attack one night. I suddenly started a very different journey and questioned a lot of things, including what my purpose in this world was. With that said, creative dreams took a back seat as I threw myself into helping others. But there's only so much support you can give others at such a young age before you start to feel as though you have missed out on youth, and wondered if you should have let your creative dreams die?
That's when I took the plunge to sign up to this course. And, I can honestly and wholeheartedly say it is the best thing I have ever done!
This course has helped me reconnect with my younger self and rediscover my passion. It has helped relax me when the world has felt too serious and inspired me to use my creativity in ways I had never even considered before. My mind had become so black and white before I signed up to this course, but now I can begin to see things in colour again. I've realised that I don't have to have a straightforward career path, I can amalgamate my talents, passions, and strengths to create new things.
I had previously enrolled at University before signing up to this course but had to drop out after suffering from anxiety. I realised I was merely just a number to the tutors in a money-making business. It put me off studying for a long time, but then I tried online learning with The Institute of Makeup Artistry and it completely changed my mind. At The Institute of Makeup Artistry, you are always an INDIVIDUAL and NEVER just a number! The whole team from student support to tutors are so helpful, knowledgeable and encouraging.
The course itself gives you such extensive knowledge on all areas of the makeup industry, something that I have never come across with other online courses or indeed colleges. The site is super easy to use and I never once had an issue with uploading assignments. What's more, is the modules push you to do your own research outside of the course, and I even found myself researching about disabilities during my prosthetic modules! What may just be makeup to some, is actually a whole world to others!
I would confidently recommend this course and the Institute to anyone looking to start their career in makeup, or like me, looking to reignite your creative passion.
This course has not only fulfilled me into becoming a qualified makeup artist, but it has fulfilled me into pushing myself into new sectors of my life.
I found this course educating, fun and most of all it assisted perfecting my current skills. All thought there’s no such thing as perfect, I have so much more knowledge and skills within the makeup industry.
I was excited to complete each assignment which is why I got through the course so quickly. I started in February and completed it by June, anything is possible if you put your mind to it. My tutor was very inspiring, kind and provided criticism when needed. She has really inspired me to keep pushing to the end through all aspects of my life.
Without this course, I never would’ve started my beauty page on Facebook and Instagram and I never would’ve felt as comfortable as I do now creating youtube videos. Makeup is my element and something that makes me feel happy, safe and content. And I'm very grateful for this course for allowing me to be this person I am today.
If anyone is considering taking on this course I HIGHLY recommend it, there’s no such thing as wasted education. Especially in a field like this one!
Working through the institute of makeup artistry was an amazing experience that I will never forget.
I had the opportunity to work with an amazing teacher with ongoing help ad support. The modules were amazing to learn new skills such as SFX, working with wigs and facial hair. I would highly recommend anyone to do this course if you have a passion for makeup like myself.

This is the only course you need!If you are a complete beginner or if you already have experience, this is the course to get you qualified. This isn't just your stock standard makeup, this covers theatre, television, SFX and legal requirements of an MUA working in the industry!
All the better is you can do this at home....in your pajamas if you wish (like me haha).
So happy I did this course and I couldn't recommend it more! YAY for being qualified!!!

So happy to have made the decision to enrol in this course. I love makeup and I never thought that the application process I used to do mainly for myself, was way too outdated until I got onboard with IMUA.

I remembered starting out in makeup watching YouTube videos and eventually, I thought of having certified as a Professional Makeup Artist. And then, I stumbled upon The Institute of Makeup Artistry. I then saw that they have in-depth modules and it's very affordable. I can say that my money and time were well spent.
Every module has an assignment and going through it is pretty manageable. They thoroughly explained each procedure as you go along and also there are videos, links, and photos in the lessons that you can refer to.
I also practised with the face chart that comes along with the module. The remarks that the mentor gives is helpful because she points out ways to improve your work to avoid difficulties in the future. I would definitely recommend makeup enthusiasts or makeup artists to enrolling here.
